Negotiations between ILWU and PMABeside the current delays we are facing on the US West coast, particularly in the Californian ports in part due to the local trucking situation, we would like to remind you that the US West Coast dockers, represented by the ILWU and the US West Coast ports through the PMA are in the process of negotiating the renewal of their labor contracts. The sensitive nature of these discussions could lead to possible strikes as from July 1st 2014. G6 Alliance on Transat-Atlantic tradesAfter the announcement of the creation of the P3 network through which CMA-CGM, Maersk & MSC will operate joint services, the New World Alliance and the Great Alliance have decided to tighten their cooperation by creating the G6 Alliance (APL, HMM, HL, MOL, NYK & OOCL). The G6 is already active on the Far East-Europe routes. However, they have announced several new joint services as from the second quarter of 2014. TRANSO will be able to ship your wines, spirits & other beverages also through the G6 Alliance and their following Trans-Atlantic services :

Alliance between the TOP 3 carriers – The P3 AllianceFollowing 5 years of crisis which has deeply impacted the shipping industry, the TOP 3 carriers, MAERSK, MSC & CMA-CGM have decided to join forces on some of the major ocean routes by pooling their vessels. At this stage, 252 vessels are involved, totaling 2,6 million TEU deployed on 28 loops. This will cover Asia-Europe, Trans-Pacific & Trans-Atlantic trades. The P3 fleet will be managed by a new joint vessel operating center located in London. Within this alliance, MAERSK represents 42% of the vessel capacity, MSC 34% and CMA-CGM 24%. Each line will have fully independent sales, pricing, marketing and customer service functions, only the operational aspects will be shared. The P3 Alliance will start in the second quarter of 2014 subject to approval from the relevant authorities. On October 22nd, 2013, the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) chairman called on fellow regulators in the European Union and China to join a global regulatory summit concerning the P3 Alliance.
