2013 TOP 10 WINE COUNTRIES
The harvests in the Northern Hemisphere are almost over, please find the statistics for the top 10 major wine producing & exporting countries in 2013.
Briefly, Italy is in top position for production and exportation. Their wine production has increased slightly by +2% and should approach 45 Mhl.
France has increased its volume by +7% and even though the vinified production remains modest at about 44 Mhl, France is still in second position for production and third for exportation.
Spain, in second place for exportation and third for production, has a fairly high increase in wine production with +23% and the volume should be around 40 Mhl.
In the USA, a clear rise is expected, particularly in California, globally the increase should be +7%.
Argentina has a strong increase with +27%, its vinified production is around 15 Mhl following the modest harvest in 2012.
Chile has increased slightly by +2% and achieves a new record with 12,8 Mhl.
