THREAT ON THE FRENCH ROADS :

French trucking unions have issued an ultimatum to the French government concerning their project for a “green” toll tax on heavy trucks.

If the French authorities do not abandon their project, truckers will take large scale action from 17th October.

Some disruption may already be expected from next week onwards which could impact road transport and export shipments.

The government minister has asked the truckers to calm down underlining that the scope of the tax has already been reduced from 15000 Km in the initial project to 4000 Km.
